Hmm, yeah, there was a similar issue with Kumander Linux 1.x. As long as it detects a wireless connection near by, it insists on trying to configure it no matter what.cypher106t wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 9:05 pm The hang is caused by an ipv6 process which can be killed in debain with cntrl + F2 to access command line but its not working for me in this case
Not 100% sure this is the same issue, but thanks for the feedback! I will look into it and fix it before the final 2.0 release. -

Uff, this means that the installer somehow failed to create your user during the installation. Wait, I will look into this right away, and report back to you soon...

Ok, I'm back. Sorry it took a while, I discovered a few other critical issues I had to deal with:
1. Even if Wifi was setup correctly during the installation, you couldn't use it in a session - fixed
2. Due to recent changes in Debian 12, around 30% of the icons in the Software Center were missing (deep rabbit hole) - fixed
3. Issue related to using PIP for installing packages for Python - fixed
Regarding your issue I have done the following:
1. Added the entry "Start offline installer" to the ISO menu, which uses a different configuration that will not try to connect to the internet (ignores Wi-Fi)
2. Reduced the timeouts regarding IPv6 connection testing to 5 seconds
--- Hang on, I just noticed it doesn't fully work. Wait, I will remake it ISO ---
This version will become Kumander Linux 2.0 Release Candidate 2. Please let me know if you still have any issues with it. -

UPDATE: Ok, I have been down to the depths of Hades itself and back, in regards to the rabbit hole that is the Debian Installer (d-i), Live Build and preseed files! There is just not much information on it online, hence ChatGPT o1's suggestions are not very helpful and even misleading.
Anyway, I believe this should all be working well now. Here is what I have done:
1. Added the new "Start offline installer" that actually works as expected (Wi-Fi is ignored)
2. Fixed the issue with the login screen reporting about "Theme not working properly" on slower PCs/laptops
3. Upgraded the Web-Greeter to the latest version (3.5.2 > 3.5.3)
4. Fixed various preseed issues regarding locale, timezone settings and more
Try it here: https://dl.kumander.org/kumander-linux- ... -amd64.iso
I hope this solves all the current problems. If not, please let me know. -

Kumander Linux is designed to look the way that it looks out of the box, which is a style that is inspired by Windows 7.
Users are naturally free to download and install whatever templates they like, but there is no guarantee if they will work or not. -

Faris000 • Sat Mar 15, 2025 5:03 pmI understand kumander should look like windows7, but I think it would be cool if it had a classic theme like windows7

alberthelena • Sun Jun 29, 2025 10:15 amHOW TO HIRE A HACKER TO RECOVER STOLEN BITCOIN. CONSULT A CERTIFIED CRYPTO RECOVERY EXPERT FASTFUND RECOVERY. I need to share this with you so you won’t lose your money to cheap scams. I invested approximately $476,000 in a binary option platform and then decided to withdraw after several weeks. However, the withdrawal was unsuccessful. I attempted to contact the platform via email and phone, but I didn’t receive a response. This is when everything began to look suspicious. Some weeks later, I got an email from them insisting I should invest more money if I want to withdraw my money, which I rejected, and I never heard from them again. That was when I knew I had been scammed. I was devastated at that moment and felt so bad that my hard-earned money was gone. After some months, I came across a lot of testimonies on the web about how Fastfund Recovery had helped many people recover their stolen, scammed, or duped money in bitcoin or any other form of digital currency. I contacted them and they promised to help me get my money back, asked me some info about the scammer, which I provided. The result was amazing, I recovered all my stolen money in hours. I was thrilled, as I never thought I could get my money back. Thanks, Fastfund Recovery, you restored my happiness as I could see my funds in my wallet. For those of you in need of such help, here is Fastfud Recovery contact info: email: Fastfundrecovery8(@) gmail.com OR WhatsApp +1(807)5.0.0-7.5.5.4.

harlandmercy05 • Sun Jun 29, 2025 4:40 pmA coworker convinced me to invest in a so-called “oil-backed Bitcoin” scheme, and I ended up losing 4.2 BTC. The idea sounded impressive Bitcoin tied to real oil reserves, offering what seemed like a stable, tangible asset in the volatile crypto market. My coworkers were enthusiastic and insisted it was a safe bet. Trusting their judgment, I put my Bitcoin into the investment. At first, the platform appeared legitimate, with detailed reports and updates supposedly verifying the oil reserves backing the coins. But soon, things took a turn for the worse. Withdrawals were delayed, customer service went silent, and promised reserve updates stopped entirely. I grew suspicious and started searching for help. That’s when I found CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES, a firm specializing in cryptocurrency fraud investigation and asset recovery. I reached out to them, and their team quickly began probing the suspicious “oil-backed Bitcoin” operation. CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES’s experts uncovered that the claimed oil reserves were completely fabricated a clever ruse to lure investors into a scam. What made the story even more shocking was CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES’s discovery of the stolen funds trail. Their investigation revealed that a large portion of the missing Bitcoin was hidden in the CEO’s personal accounts, including a luxurious yacht fund. Working with law enforcement, CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES coordinated the recovery of 3 BTC from these secret holdings, successfully reclaiming a significant portion of my lost investment. While I still lost some Bitcoin, CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES’s efforts brought me some relief and restored a bit of faith in the crypto world. This experience was a hard lesson in skepticism and the necessity of due diligence. I learned that even trusted coworkers can unintentionally lead you into fraudulent schemes. If you’re ever faced with an investment promising “backing” by physical assets like oil, take a step back and thoroughly verify the claims. And if you suspect fraud, CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES is a trusted resource to help investigate and recover lost crypto assets.
